The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa (NPC) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1987 and a long standing member of the World LPG Association.
The Association represents companies working in the fields of retail, distribution and installation of LP Gas appliances (and hardware).
The LPGAS Safety association’s mission is to ensure safety through protective practices and legal compliance to government regulation. Offering information and training guides to assist members in the LP Gas industry. Companies and their staff undergo specialised training and registration with the South African Qualification and Certification Committee for Gas (SAQCCGas) as mandated by the Department of Labour.
Also offered is SAQCCGas accredited installer database, giving information on all the companies within the Association.
Registered LP Gas installation personnel are issued with an Identity cars stating their Name, a photograph and the grade of the individual (i.e. Domestic, Commercial, Industrial or Autogas). A Certificate of Conformity (COC) to be issued upon the completion of any LP Gas installation by a registered installer. Training on the systems safe operation must be conducted with the end-user of the system, covering all areas of the users use of the LP Gas appliance and systems.
When searching for an installer in your area, or if in any doubt as to the credentials of an installer, first refer to the SAQCCGas Installer database.
