Installing a gas water heater will drastically reduce your electricity bill as the unit is not kept on to heat the water. A gas water heater works when the hot water tap is opened in your home, and instantly ignites the flame to heat the pipe carrying the water. Once you switch off the tap, the flame goes out and thus it is not kept on.
